Add Tasks

Now that you have completed Team Member Setup and System Options, you are ready to enter your own tasks:

  • Select:

          Add/Edit Tasks ...

           Add New Tasks ...

    from the Main Menu startup panel.

Basic

















 
  • Enter the following information about your task:

    Name

    A name for your task.

    Description

    A phrase or sentence describing your task.

    Notes

    Additional information about the task. Notes can hold up to 65,000 characters of text. By pressing SHIFT + F2, you can open the zoom window for the text.

    Date Received

    The date that the task was entered.

    Date Allocated

    Enter the date that you plan to start the task (this date defaults to be the same as Date Received).

    Deadline Date

    Choose a deadline by when you should have the task completed.

    You don't need to fill in any of the other fields - they are used as described only in the advanced section below.


When you have finished entering all your task information:

  • Enter another task by pressing F12 or by clicking the new record button on the record selector;

or

  • Close the form , and the task will be saved.

Note:

If there are values appearing in the other fields each time you create a new task, e.g. appearing underneath Time Budget or Person, it is because there is a template named "Default" with these values still recorded. Clear these values by opening the System Options dialog by selecting

  • View Other Options ...

  • Setup System Options ...

from the Main Menu startup panel. Select the Template tab then select "Default" from the Task Description field. Delete any unwanted field default values.
